No opportunities in LATIN AMERICA
Over the last century, Evangelicals in Latin America grew from 700,000 to a spectacular 55 million. In many countries, the growth of the church has been greatest among the poor, leaving the upper and middle classes less evangelized. The growth of the church has made Latin America a viable mission sending region, but churches are still learning about sending and supporting missionaries.
TEAM is assisting the church in Brazil to send missionaries through their own mission agency, and providing training and counseling services to equip nationals for ministry. Ministries in Mexico range from planting cell churches to working with women at risk, people addicted to drugs, and developing churches. Churches targeting the middle and upper-class from Peru to Nicaragua are being planted through the LINC ministry.
