Fun, laughter, and learning at camp

Yangqu County is located an hour north of Taiyuan, the provincial capital of Shanxi Province in China. Although not as poor as the surrounding villages, most of the residents in this area have limited access to educational resources and technical advances that are commonplace in the larger cities.

We offer classes for English teachers and students throughout the year. Our classes focus on listening comprehension and conversational abilities. Staffed by fluent English speakers, our teachers use a variety of interactive and multi-media teaching techniques.

English camps for village children held during the summer months bring together international workers, local volunteers, and rural village children for six days of fun, laughter, and learning. The week-long residential program provides a life-changing experience for all involved.

English Camp accomplishes

• broadening the horizons of the village children and encouraging them to continue in school
• learning English from native English speakers through fun activities
• providing workers a chance to touch the lives of the children and to see God’s work in this place
